Hope's fragile seed.

When the rain won’t come
send your roots deep
seek the true wetness
let it seep
into your pores
draw it in
take the strength
and feed.

When the sun won’t shine
open your petals wide
spread your leaves wider
catch the light
what little shines
draw it in
take the strength
and feed.

When you are cut down,
in hot water,
ripped from your true place,
just hang on,
take a deep breath
draw it in
take the strength,
and feed.

Wherever you are
whatever happens round you,
you are the beauty,
the splash of bright colour,
purple in the rainbow,
gold in the night sky,
rose in the greyness,
hope’s fragile seed.
